Philips Metal Industries is a largest supplier and manufacturer of stainless steel 316/316L syphon tubes. A simple device known as a syphon is used to shield the pressure gauge from hot substances like steam. It is successful in lessening the destructive consequences of sudden pressure shifts. When operating at higher temperatures, syphon allows system builders to use pressure sensors with low-temperature scales. Remembering to fill the siphon with water or another suitable separating medium during the initial installation is crucial. Syphon is typically made of an alloy of carbon steel and is heated to about 200 degrees Celsius. Other materials, such as stainless steel, can also be used to create it.
The most common material for 316 syphons is carbon steel, which is resistant to temperatures as high as 200°C. Butt welding or alloy steel with looping ports are two more materials from which they might be fashioned. One can adjust the length of the tube and add more coils to suit individual requirements. We use wound syphons to measure steam pressure. To avoid live steam coming into direct contact with the instruments, they are often connected between process taps and pressure gauges. Heat dissipation is another useful feature of syphons. This keeps pressure gauges safe from intense heat, which may otherwise damage them.
